This great piece was designed and made in Cornwall. This Cornish tin St Piran's flag lapel pin with enamelled flag has a stainless steel pin and pin back... it's the perfect addition to any outfit to show your Cornish pride!

St Piran is the patron saint of tin miners and also one of 3 national saints of Cornwall. It's believed that St Piran rediscovered tin-smelting! His black hearthstone, (which was evidently a slab of tin-bearing ore), had the tin smelt out of it and rise to the top. It formed a white cross! From this came the St Piran's flag which is the white cross on the black background that you can see all over Cornwall today.

Each year, the Cornish folk celebrate St Piran’s day on 5th March with a pasty! Kernow Bys Vyken is a widely used phrase on the 5th March. It means 'Cornwall Forever'!
